Documenta – The Art Fair in Kassel

It’s been a bit quiet from me, that’s because I firmly believe that I only need to blog when I have something to share. Creativity happens when it happens, not weekly or monthly. Let me know if you agree.  Read on to take part in this quick art quiz.

Last week I went to the world famous art fair in Kassel called “Documenta” Though it’s world famous, I’d never heard of it before! Anyway, it takes place every five years and the most interesting thing about it, is working out what is, and what isn’t supposed to be art.

In front of the main entrance on the grass opposite is what looks like an occupation/demonstration against the usual things like exploitation of bears, and for the usual things like rights for bears. To be honest I wasn’t sure if this was or wasn’t art!

The first photo is of the main station, that wasn’t art, but inside the station was an amazing iPod tour which was the best thing of the whole day! You held the screen out in front of you and it played a movie and led you around the station seeing things that had been there but were no longer there. Confused? That’s how I know it was art. Actually it was fantastic, surreal and stimulating. Three things bears like. So that I award the Golden Paw.

The second photo is of a prison which during the art fair has been turned into a hotel and cafe, fascinating and creepy, not sure where the inmates were, but hopefully somewhere else. The rest of the photos are a mix of photos of art and our own photos, three of each. The question for you to answer is…. which three are art? Please send me your answers. The winning artist will receive Wodwik’s Golden Paw.

Meanwhile I hope you are turning your own lives into works of art. Time for a snooze now, till next time. Here is the link if you want to check out the fair which runs for 100 days. http://d13.documenta.de/de/

New York & Cup Cakes

I’m loving New York. Here is a picture of a cup cake! To be honest, it looked better than it tasted! I was fortunate enough to have lunch with Olivia and the other girls. They also looked better than they tasted! Let’s see if I can remember their names. Lisa Panarello on the left, Sonia Satra, Olivia, Karol Ward and my new aunty Penelope!  I’m taking the picture John that”s why I’m not in the shot. They will be speaking tonight so don’t miss it, I will also be there of course giving out hugs. Then I took this great picture of Olivia in Time Square. Today I’ll get her to take photos of me!

A mini Me!

Mini me!

I got a mail from a nice young lady who told me she bought her first ever bear after meeting me and he is called Wodwik too. Sometimes when I meet people, they want to take me home. The kindest people, but I was taught never to go home with strangers except in their hearts. Now there’s a mini me, so everyone can take me home.

The mini me is only $5.

50% of the profits fund my favorite charity, The American Institute of Stuttering! And the other half funds my honey habit!

Sarasota District 47

Here are a few pictures of District 47. Rick and Kathy Furbush, They were wonderful, not only served me fish when I arrived but also have the word fur in their surnames. I was truly Furbushed! The other person speaking at the lectern was Jeff, who along with his wife Jane were so warm and kind and supportive. Pamela Rolle the District Governor is standing at the back, another gem of a girl. America wouldn’t be America without a bit of patriotism, though the guns made me a bit nervous, no bears were being hunted. Then there are some photos of Olivia”s sessions and of course Olivia with the super star David Henderson, though he didn’t act like a super star, he was one. Next time David we will get that photo, we super stars need to stick together!
